WE ARE OPENING JULY 10 & 11. This has been a trying year for all of us. COVID-19 has forced us to cancel our Spring Members Meeting and will likely prevent us from holding a hymn sing. The good news is that we will now open our Illinois Mennonite Heritage Museum and related grounds and facilities to the public for this year with precautions and restrictions on 2nd and 4th Fridays and Saturdays July-October, starting July 10 & 11 and 24 & 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to groups no larger than 10 for asymptomatic persons willing to wear masks, socially distance and sign a liability waiver with contact information. Please spread the word among your friends and at your churches. Family groups of 10 or less are welcome.
My parents (Ivis and the late Barbara Stringer) would like to donate to your “Barn” a 7 foot by 2 foot signed board that came out of the family farms milking parlor. It is hand carved with people/local farmers/relatives signatures and the dates they signed. I believe the first signed date is 1909. I would love to email you a picture. Please respond with your email address if you are interested.
